My Life Bio

I grew up on a very small (hobby-farm) in Indiana. Started working on our farm at the ripe ole age of 5. I was taught early that work always comes before play, and that was a good thing.

I loved wrestling and track from 6th grade through 12th. I signed up for the Coast Guard during my sophomore year as there was a two year waiting list to get in. Left for boot camp 2 weeks after High School Graduation.

By the time I was 22 I had already been on 5 continents and made the sixth one (Africa) in 2000. The only one missing is Asia - "my next goal".

Went to electrical school while in the Coast Guard. Got out after finishing almost five years, then worked for Todd's Shipyard on a very specialized six man electrical crew of which I was the youngest by half.

Seventeen years ago I was doing some electrical installation and repair work on a fishing vessel for an independent contractor. The Chief liked what I did and offered me a job. From there I worked my way up to Chief Engineer and the rest is history.

( a short bio, more to come )
